Designing Client Transformation
Career professionals do more than help clients land jobs, write stronger résumés, or prepare for interviews. At our best, we create experiences that can change how clients understand themselves, what they believe they’re capable of, and what they do next.
PARWCC Interview Institute Director Lili Foggle will explore what makes career services transformational, and how résumé writers, career coaches, and interview professionals can intentionally create the conditions that make transformation more likely. You’ll leave with a fresh perspective on the work you already do and practical ways to deepen its impact, without adding more to your plate.
Because we’re not simply helping people get hired. We’re helping people become who they’re ready to be next.

Session Title
Focusing on Natural Talents: The Research and Practice Behind Strengths-Based Development and Coaching
Session Description
What would happen if we studied what's right with people? That question, first asked by university professor and researcher Dr. Donald Clifton, ran against the grain of most psychology at the time. It anchored a unique perspective: people build their best work and their best lives not by fixing every deficiency, but by understanding and applying what they already do well. Strengths-based development turns that insight into a practice, and strengths coaching gives people the tools to aim it towards any role or area of focus. This session uncovers what effective coaching unlocks in people: it moves someone from simply knowing their talents to using them with intention, supporting stronger performance and a better overall experience of work and life. Explore how a strengths-based mindset can shape your coaching and development initiatives.
Session Objectives
Understand the breakthrough of CliftonStrengths, the rise of strengths-based development, and a global movement focusing on maximizing what is right with people
Learn how intentional application of strengths connects to the quality of someone's work and their broader quality of life
Learn the ways that strengths coaching does beyond awareness: moving from knowing one's talents to applying them with intention
Explore how a strengths-based mindset, supported by AI and other modern tools, can shape your coaching and development initiatives
